Look up into the night sky
And see that the brightness of one star
Does nothing to diminish the brilliance of another
Look up and see that the darker the sky
The brighter the stars appear
In a world dark with suffering and sorrow
How much more important it is that you and I shine brightly.

Man has long navigated the world by following the stars
And looked to them for wisdom and guidance
Love still lingers under them
Waiting for a shooting star to wish upon
Nothing man can create can rival the intensity of a star
That shines its light so far away, still touching you and me
A million years after sending out its rays.

Only the Creator of Stars decides how many stars there are
And only He knows them each by name
Look up into the night sky and see how marvelously the stars are made
Look up into the night sky and know the Creator of Stars
Is the One who created you and me.

Do we shine brightly enough so the world knows who we are?
If we were a candle
Would we hide away where no-one can appreciate our glow?
If we were a fire
Would we cover ourselves so no-one can take pleasure in our warmth?

Now is your time to shine
To find the dreams within you and the passion waiting to be ignited
Waiting to be fanned into glorious and brilliant flame
To reflect to the world the uniqueness that is you.

You and I need to shine
To shine brightly in this dark world
And spread our light into hidden corners where no light has been before
To reflect the glory and healing warmth
Of the One who is the Source of All Light
To fan into flame the glowing embers of those around us
So they too can live their life in all its brilliance.

Let’s you and I ignite the lives of those we meet
Ignite as many of them across this world as we can reach
Look up into the night sky
And resolve to make the earth as bright with stars as the heavens.

Now is your time to shine
Because you have been carefully and wonderfully made
By the Creator of Stars.
